Perren Buildings / Recruitment —Associate Members Training Programme

Training Programme 2008

The Associate Members Training Programme is led by Jo Cooper, a specialist NITA-trained advocacy teacher with extensive experience of advocacy training in UK and abroad for College of Law, International Criminal Bar and ADC-ICTY. He is supported by other specialist advocates, academics and judges, including The Honourable Mrs Justice Dobbs DBE (currently chair of the Magisterial Committee, Judicial Studies Board), Professor Peter Murphy (General Editor of Blackstones Criminal Practice) and members of the Circuit Bench for the South-Eastern Circuit.

The Associate Members Training Programme is central to the Perren Buildings ethos. It is friendly, open, structured and supportive. It has been designed to give our new associates all they will ever need as a foundation for success as a Crown Court advocate—apart from guts, determination and drive, supplied by the associates themselves.

The Training Programme consists of

· three core modules which are taught over residential weekends at our preferred conference venue, Barnett Hill.
