AREAS OF ADVOCACY PRACTICETony Loader was admitted as a solicitor in 1977 and gained Higher Rights in the criminal courts in 1997. Since then he has specialised in Crown Court defence advocacy, leading in murder trials and dealing with numerous cases such as rape, robbery, drug importations and serious assaults, including multi handed matters. He has received instructions both as leading and sole advocate in a wide range of other criminal cases. He has dealt with appeals in the Court of Appeal and also been instructed at inquests. He has had extensive experience of tribunal work especially the Mental Health Review Tribunal, where he was formerly a President and has an interest in and knowledge of Prison Law.
