AREAS OF PRACTICEKeith Betts has 20 years experience of criminal litigation—as an advocate, as a solicitor litigator, and previously as a Fellow of The Institute of Legal Executives. He has experience of all types of crime work from speeding cases to murder. Keith’s specialist area is Revenue & Customs related work. Previous cases include his representation of one of the central defendants in the Altea case. At the time of that case it was the largest single drug importation into the UK (17.5 tons). Keith has developed contacts across Europe when dealing with serious importation cases relating to drugs, fire arms, pornographic material and money. Keith also has experience of representing before the VAT and Duties Tribunal. He regularly acts for large haulage firms recovering seized vehicles, and advises on systems and procedures to comply with Customs vehicle seizure policy.
