AREAS OF PRACTICE
Colette Kelly was called to the Bar in 1980 and practised from the East Anglian Chambers, Colchester until she re-qualified as a solicitor in 1986. She qualified as a Solicitor-Advocate (Higher Courts All Proceedings) in 1995.
As a former barrister her speciality is advocacy. She has conducted trials in all civil and criminal courts and has also undertaken appeals in the Court of Appeal. Her criminal cases include fraud, conspiracy, murder, child abuse, international drugs importations, corruption and false accounting. During 2007 / 8 Colette was instructed as sole advocate in a range of contested cases including false imprisonment, kidnapping, robbery, grievous bodily harm and fraud offences.
She is a member of the Solicitors Association of Higher Court Advocates, London Criminal Courts Solicitors Association and the Law Society.
