AREAS OF ADVOCACY PRACTICEMichael obtained Higher Rights of Audience in the Criminal Courts in 2002 having qualified as a Solicitor in 1997. He has a strong track record of dealing with serious and high profile cases. He is a specialist Trial Advocate who has undertaken advocacy in a wide range of matters in the Crown Court, from burglary, armed robbery, assault on children, high value fraud through to serious and high level drug supply, enjoying good relationships with both lay and professional clients. He has also successfully appeared as advocate in the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division) In 2007 he was part of the successful advocacy team in R v Collins and ors where proceedings arose out of an enormous enquiry into drug trafficking and the Prosecution case centred on allegations made by a so-called ‘Supergrass’ Notable cases 2008/2010R v Pyleav and ors - a 6 week trial in which his Client was alleged to have planned a major disturbance at Harmondsworth Immigration Removal Centre, resulting in over £5m of damage.
